Sewer line inspections are a vital part of maintaining a property, especially since homeowners are financially responsible for any issues with the main sewer line. Many of these lines are made from aging materials that naturally deteriorate over time and are vulnerable to damage from factors such as tree root intrusion, ground shifting, earthquakes, and the use of harsh chemicals. We prefer to walk on the roof surface during our inspections whenever it is safe to do so and will not cause damage to the roofing material. Walking the roof allows for a close, detailed evaluation that can reveal issues not always visible from the ground. However, there are certain limitations to this approach. Roofing materials such as clay tiles, concrete, and slate are easily broken and should not be walked on. Additionally, wet, steep, or rain-slicked roofs present significant safety hazards and may be inaccessible. In situations where walking the roof is not feasible, we utilize state-of-the-art, high-resolution cameras to inspect areas that would otherwise be unreachable. This technology allows us to maintain the quality and thoroughness of our inspection while prioritizing safety and protecting the integrity of the roof.
